PRIME MINISTER KEYNOTE ADDRESS AT THE OPENING OF THE SAMOA INTERNATIONAL GAME FISHING ASSOCIATION (SIGFA) 2024.

SAMOA, April 27 - Ladies and Gentlemen, Anglers, and Friends,

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Samoa International Game Fishing Association – SIGFA – for granting me the honor of inaugurating the Neptune, Samoa International Game Fishing Tournament, 2024.

This year holds special significance as we celebrate our Silver Jubilee Tournament, the 25th edition of the International Game Fishing Tournaments. Such milestones are a testament to the dedication and passion of all involved in fostering this remarkable sporting event.

With the participation of 2 boat teams from American Samoa and 3 boats from New Zealand, our tournament exemplifies the spirit of camaraderie and competition that transcends borders and unites anglers from diverse backgrounds.

As our teams embark on their fishing endeavors, let us keep in our hearts the fervent wishes and prayers for their safety and success. The ocean can be both generous and unforgiving, and the support of loved ones is paramount as they navigate its depths.

To the fisherwomen and fishermen, I offer my sincerest wishes for unwavering strength, razor-sharp focus, and boundless determination. May your lines be sturdy, your hooks be sharp, and your spirits soar high as you chase after the elusive catch.
