CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — A body was found in the Guyandotte River over the weekend in Cabell County, troopers said.
A man fishing in the river reported finding what was thought to be a human body along the riverbank on Saturday afternoon near the Tudor’s on Rt. 60 and across from the Altizer area, according to West Virginia State Police.
Multiple agencies, including the Cabell County Sheriff’s Office, state police and other first responders were able to use a boat to get the body out of the river.
The body has been sent to the West Virginia Medical Examiner’s Office for identification and autopsy.
