Kansas City diners raise thousands for Graham Hoffman scholarship fund
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Diners helped an organization raise thousands of dollars to fund a scholarship in honor of a fallen Kansas City paramedic and firefighter.
HeroFundUSA was involved in an effort to raise money to fund a scholarship created in honor of Graham Hoffman.
The organization said a group of restaurants donated 10-percent of sales Saturday to the scholarship fund. HeroFundUSA is waiting for a couple of restaurants to deliver their donations, but said it raised at least $25,000 for the scholarship.
The scholarships will go to people pursuing accredited firefighter or paramedic training programs in the Kansas City metro.
HeroFundUSA is also being accepted online.
Hoffman died April 27 after he was stabbed by a patient in the back of an ambulance. The woman charged with his death also attacked Hoffman’s partner according to police.
