Prince Philip spotted a Bigfoot while walking in Balmoral, Britain’s leading ufologist has claimed.

The late Duke of Edinburgh – who passed away in April 2021 at the age of 99 – had been staying at the royal family’s summer retreat with wife Queen Elizabeth when he caught sight of what he believed was a species of the cryptid ape.

Mark Christopher Lee – who has been researching UFOS for several years and has made numerous documentaries on the subject, including The King of UFOs and God Versus Aliens – has been passed the information by a Buckingham Palace source and is now going to investigate Philip’s sighting further.

Mark said: “I had some contact from the Palace there was some sort of Bigfoot at Balmoral that the Duke of Edinburgh saw once. This was in the ‘70s at Balmoral.”

Although sightings of Big Foot have commonly been made in North America and reports of the Yeti – believed to be the same creature – come from the Himalayas, Mark says there have been reported sightings of creatures in Britain. He said: “Box Hill, of all places in Surrey. There’s been some sightings there.”

Flash Gordon actor Brian Blessed previously revealed that Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth both believed Big Foot was real and once met a man who claimed he was kidnapped by a family of Sasquatch.

The 88-year-old actor – who starred in the late monarch’s favourite film Flash Gordon – has revealed the royal couple met a tracker called Albert Ostman in Vancouver during a trip to Canada who told them both that he been captured by a family of the mythical ape men during a fishing trip to Venezuela.

He said: “The Queen when in Vancouver wanted to meet a man called Albert Ostman, who was a trapper in Venezuela and North America.

“Just outside Venezuela, he wanted to go on a holiday and go fishing … He was an experienced traveller and explorer in his tent, had a rifle, he wasn’t looking for any Big Foots, he was fishing. It’s the most brilliant account of Sasquatch I’ve ever heard.

“He describes being kidnapped, he describes four of them, being taken away, it’s so real … Scientists examined him. They couldn’t find anything wrong with him.

“The Queen and Prince Philip spent an afternoon with Albert, and he told this story, he didn’t like to repeat this story, but he told the Queen the whole story and she believed him implicitly.”

Brian worked with Prince Philip on his Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme and the actor revealed that he and Philip discussed their belief that Yetis live all over the world.

The beloved British star – who can be heard performing the parts of The Master of Ceremonies and The Caveman on upcoming album Tubular Bells - A 50th Anniversary Celebration – knows that Yetis exist because he saw them on an expedition in Mongolia.

He said: “There are all these creatures alive in the Earth, Yeti, Sasquatch, Big Foot! In Mongolia they walked thousands of miles, they were seen migrating, hairy men. I climbed several of the mountains and there they were. Seven, eight, nine of them all covered in fur. I saw them at a distance."
