Wednesday marks the 32nd anniversary of the war crime committed against civilians in the village of Ahmici near Vitez. On the morning of April 16, 1993, members of the Croat Defence Council (HVO) killed 116 Bosniak civilians and set fire to their property.

Among the victims was a three-month-old baby, the youngest, while the oldest victim was 82 years old.

The remains of all victims have not yet been recovered, and efforts to locate them continue.

The International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) convicted Dario Kordic to 25, Vladimir Santic to 18, and Drago Josipovic to 12 years in prison for their involvement in the crime.
