MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — The Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife is planning a series of clinics to help people learn about ice fishing.

The free clinics will be offered from the middle of January through the middle of February at different locations across the state.

Lessons will include ice safety, hole drilling, equipment, regulations and different techniques for different fish species.

Fish and Wildlife Education Specialist Corey Hart says everyone is welcome.

All participants will have the opportunity to practice what they learn. Everyone is urged to pre-register and wear appropriate clothing.
