MBABANE - Local anglers have to be patient before they do what they know best in the World Bass Championship.

The grand opening of the competition had to be cancelled due to strong winds in the lake of El Cuchillo in Mexico. The tournament was supposed to start on Monday and finish on Sunday. The first three days were supposed to be for practice but seemingly anglers will have to wait for the storms to calm.
This was confirmed by Swaziland Angling Association President, Manny Rego yesterday.

“The organisers were forced to postpone the grand opening of the competition. This was due to very strong winds making the lake unsafe with swells of over 1 metre high,” Rego said.

Wimpie Bouwer, Derek Hopf, Curtis Mathews, William Brown and record holder Manny Rego are representing Eswatini in the 14th instalment of the Black Bass World Championship.
