A woman who was held captive in a 'sex dungeon' for 10 years by a man known as 'The Italian Fritzl' was repeatedly raped and tortured - and gave birth to two of his children - it's been claimed.
Shocking details of the alleged abuse by Aloisio Francesco Rosario Giordano, 52, have emerged since his arrest over the weekend.
It's been revealed that he was a convicted rapist who had been released in 1999 - for another rape, kidnap and torture - after serving four years, before going on to allegedly commit the latest horrific crimes.
Italian police believe that his victim was 'taken' after she was sent to care for Giordano's terminally-ill wife.
It is claimed that the Romanian carer was just 19-years-old at the start - when she was chained up in the filthy rat-infested cabin.
Giordano has already been likened in Italian media to Austrian abuser Josef Fritzl, who imprisoned his own daughter and fathered seven children with her.
Horrifying footage shows the inside of the dilapidated and filthy building where she was held, where buckets were used as toilets.
Huge piles of rusting and rotting furniture filled the cabin in images showing the shocking conditions the woman and her children lived in.
He had offered his latest victim a home after his wife died, according to reports in Italy, and when she moved in she was 'brutally raped and tortured' in a cabin with no electricity.
The abuser fathered two children with the woman, now 29, it is now claimed - a boy aged nine and a three-year-old girl.
It is also alleged that the children watched as their mother was raped and beaten by her captor - and the eldest was made to join in with the beatings.
In the ten years she was held captive, the woman never saw a doctor, and would endure horrific beatings.
Repubblica reports that she was found with wounds caused by a fishing wire.
Giordana was caught after being stopped by police with one of the children - who had been struck by how dirty the youngster was.
Officers demanded to see where the child lived - and reported that the mother had a demeanor similar to a 'slave'.
Back in 1995, Il Post reports, Giordano was convicted of sexually abusing a 23-year-old woman, who was forced to have two abortions during a horrific five months in captivity.
Police discovered tools including a scalpel which were used to carry out an abortion in his home.
His wife, Raskaovi Bouchra, said at the time, according to reports: "He is a good man, it was her who instigated it."
